Of

Certified

Sports Counselors, Psychologists, Physicians,

Lawyers, and Financial Advisors.

This Registry will soon include Associated Hospitals, Universities and Colleges with Sports Curricula.

The professionals listed in this Registry are especially equipped and skilled to provide assistance for athletes in these specialized areas of endeavor.  Less than one percent of all professional, licensed care-givers are accepted for certification by the National Institute of Sports.  While there may be some unlisted, uncertified professionals who are every bit as capable as anyone listed in this Registry, your chances of finding a good, effective, thoroughly skilled professional are increased dramatically when you use the Registry.

A number of people have had a great influence on the development of the National Institute of Sports.  One notable example is Dr. Bruce Ogilvie, widely considered the “Father” of Sports Psychology.  Another is Tom Landry, who set a high standard for coaches.  We have borrowed his motto, and amended it to: “God, Family, Sports” (instead of Football).  I have talked with John Wooden on a number of occasions, and his wisdom is, hopefully, reflected in our goals and mission.  Others who have been instrumental are now on our board of Directors, and no amount of thanks can ever reflect their influence and credit in the development of the NIS.

We hope this Registry will be of benefit mostly to the athletes here and around the world.  Everything we do is, basically, for the athletes.  If you are attempting to help an athlete through the use of this Registry, be assured that we will assist you in any way we can. You may call us for updates, and other assistance, at 903-872-2300.

Sincerely,
Dr. John Mayer, President
National Institute of Sports
